Settlement Review Before You Sign
If you have a proposed divorce settlement or parenting agreement, or a mediation coming up, a fixed-scope review can show you what the agreement requires, what it leaves unresolved, and which provisions deserve another look before you commit.
What's included
- Review of the proposed marital settlement agreement (and the parenting plan or allocation judgment if there are children) and both financial affidavits.
- A one-hour consultation to go through it with you.
- A short written list of the provisions to revisit and the questions still to answer.
- Delivered within five business days of receiving the documents.
What it costs
A flat fee, quoted up front after a conflict check, based on the documents involved. Additional documents, negotiation with the other side, and court appearances are not included and can be quoted separately.
How it works
This is a limited-scope engagement under Illinois Rule of Professional Conduct 1.2(c). The engagement letter states exactly what is and isn't included. It is available for Illinois cases, whether or not you already have a lawyer.
To ask about a review, call (312) 621-4394 or use the contact page. Please don't send the agreement until the conflict check clears.
